Description

Position is primarily responsible for effective planning, delivery and development of the agency’s Vocational Rehabilitation and Prevocational services. The Manager of Vocational Services will assure assigned services are of high quality and are provided and documented in accordance with applicable local, state, regional and federal regulations and compliance standards. This individual will also deliver high quality services directly or through assignment to employees. Candidate is expected to supervise assigned staff and monitor compliance with applicable regulations, while working cooperatively with others to maximize services to individuals. This position provides crisis intervention and advocacy to individuals on caseload as well.  

Requirements: Bachelors’ degree in rehabilitation, psychology, education or related field ; 5 years experience working with individuals with disabilities; Knowledge of applicable regulations; At least 3 years of supervisory experience; NYS driver’s license and acceptable driving record;  Clearances required through NYS Justice Center (OPWDD/OMH criminal background check), the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities, and the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.

Desired Qualities: Demonstrated knowledge of expectations of community employers and strategies to enhance employment readiness of individuals; Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing; Computer skills and previous experience providing vocational services to individuals with disabilities
