Auditorium Seating Restoration

The Auditorium Seating Restoration Department of JM Murray can revitalize the seating in your theater, school, or college auditorium. We are meticulous in our work, in this painstaking process, as we reuse almost all of the original auditorium seating parts to maintain the character of the auditorium and abide by our commitment to being environmentally friendly.

The Restoration Process

Our highly trained, skilled professionals carefully map out each seat in the auditorium prior to removal, which is typically accomplished in one day. Once removed and in our manufacturing facility, the restoration process begins. All wood components are sanded, stained and sealed. The metal and cast iron components are media shot-blasted prior to a powder coat application, and then they are oven baked. We also fix or replace any broken pieces. The upholstery components are then stripped down to the frames and all new foam and upholstery are applied. Finally, all new hardware is put in place for the reassembly. All finishes are chosen by the owner from a wide range of colors and styles. From start to finish, each project takes several months.
