Who We Are
A Diverse Organization
Our Services Division provides compassionate support services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Our Business Division offers business-to-business solutions to various public and private organizations globally. The two sides of the organization are merged by offering people with disabilities the opportunity to obtain meaningful employment in a community-based work environment while also teaching them valuable skills, improving their self-esteem, and enriching their lives.
Our Past
In 1966, John M. Murray and a small group of concerned citizens created the Cortland Workshop, a place where adults with disabilities could find work opportunities. It was John Murray’s dream to create a first-rate vocational rehabilitation facility where individuals could not only obtain employment but also obtain the skills needed to achieve greater independence in their everyday lives.
From our humble beginnings over 50 years ago, JM Murray now provides services to approximately 1,200 individuals with disabilities annually, and more than 200 individuals with disabilities are involved in our Business Division contracts. Throughout our growth, we have strived to continue to maintain an individualized, person-centered approach throughout all of the services we provide, offering the individuals we serve the opportunity to achieve greater self-sufficiency.

Our longevity is due to our flexibility and professionalism. We refuse to stand idle and are always looking for new ways to expand our wide range of services.
In our Services Division, we are continually creating new opportunities that provide and encourage greater independence and enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. Our person-centered mission is continually evolving as we tailor our services to everyone we serve. Our Business Division offers flexibility and responsiveness that is second to none. We encourage our prospective customers to contact us about the types of products and services we are able to provide. We are unique in that we have access to a large, diversified workforce and work space, offering the latest technology with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) availability and Epicor, our Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP). All of these tools provide us with the opportunity to accommodate projects of all magnitudes, better serve our customers, and thus solidify our future growth.
