The Sr. Community Support Aide Provides a wide variety of training and support services to maximize the independence and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Delivery of service focused on increasing independence, skill acquisition and/or skill maintenance. Plan areas of focus include, but are not limited to, providing training in the community and at the individual’s residence in performing activities of daily living, navigating the community, building social and communication skills, providing support to access and keep medical appointments, financial management, and other identified areas necessary to enhance an individual’s ability to live independently in the community.

Position will also provide start up and support broker services to include; assisting in the development of a comprehensive self-directed budget, assisting in the development and maintenance of a Circle of Support, assisting consumers who chose to hire their own staff to accomplish the expectation of an employer and will work cooperatively with the consumers Fiscal Intermediary.

Requirements: HS diploma and minimum 1 yr experience working with people with disabilities. Must be able to work independently, have excellent organization and communication skills, and ability to exercise sound judgment.  Will be required to complete mandated Broker Training. Must be able to work with some flexibility in schedule including possible evening and weekends.  Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation. A familiarity with the local area is preferred.
